Results from the McDowell Invitational 9/02/2017

The Butler High School Cross Country teams traveled to Erie - Saturday September 2nd - for the 44th Annual McDowell Invitational.

"The Tornado came away with some outstanding early season performances":

             In the Girls Varsity Race – Butler Finish a very respectable 4th of 23 schools. Butler was led by All-State runner Maggie Welty finishing 2nd overall in a fine early season time of 19:20. Following Welty were Sophomore Chelsey Kabel in 11th 20:40, Seniors Carly Bauer 38th 22:21, Erin LeMay 39th 22:21 and Emma LeMay 58th 22:44.

             In the Boys Varsity race it was Butler taking home the championship plaque from 23 other schools. “The boys were led by All-State performer Noah Beveridge winning the race 15:27.9 (missing the course record by less than a second) Beveridge took the lead at the half-mile point and was never headed winning by over 30 seconds.” Backing up Beveridge in the win were the fine early season performances of Brett Brady, 7th – 16:27, Aden Dressler, 13th – 16:50, Robbie Hays, 23rd – 17:12, and Tim Porter, 31st – 17:30.

The Butler JV Boys & Girls both finished 2nd overall in their respective races. The boys JV were led by Doug Kostelansky in first and Camden Seybert in third. While newcomer Sophomore Autumn Pettinato finished 2nd in the girls JV race.
