BUTLER BOYS CROSS COUNTRY DEFEATS PERENNIAL STATE POWER NORTH ALLEGHENY & OUTRUN KNOCH

The Butler Boys Cross Country Team opened the dual meet season Tuesday in a fantastic way as they ran away from both Knoch - 15 to 49 and perennial state power North Allegheny 27 to 29. The boys were led by Course record setter Noah Beveridge, Brett Brady, Aden Dressler, Robbie Hays, Tim Porter, Camden Seybert and Doug Kostelansky. It was a huge win for the Tornado Boys and sets up a section showdown with cross county rival and defending WPIAL Champions Seneca Valley at home next Tuesday SEPTEMBER 19TH.

The boys are 2 and 0 on the season.

BUTLER GIRLS SPLIT WITH NORTH ALLEGHENY AND KNOCH

For the girls it was a split decision topping Knoch 23 to 36 but falling to North Allegheny in a highly competitive race 25 to  34. Once again the Tornado were led by the outstanding performance of All-State performer Maggie Welty in Second place headed only by State Runner-up Clara Savchik of NA. Helping to make it a close meet were Personal best performances by Sophomores Chelsey Kabel and Autumn Pettinato in 4th and 5th respectively. rounding out the scoring for the girls were Seniors Carly Bauer, Erin LeMay, Emma LeMay and Nikki Pepmeyer. The girls are 1 and 1 on the Season.
