Golden Tornado Lose: -
On Thursday October 22nd the Tornado Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams traveled to White Oak Park in McKeesport, PA and faced off against many of the top teams in the WPIAL.   On the boys side the Tornado finished 2nd overall of 27 full teams - falling only to defending WPIAL Champion North Allegheny. The Tornado were led by the First Place Overall WINNER and Course Record Setter Junior CJ Singleton running an outstanding time of 15:41. Singleton was followed across the line by Second Place fininsher Junior Sage Vavro, 15:55, Senior Skyler 6th ,-16:33. Juniors Ryder Kriley 34th and Raine Gratzmiller (35th). 17:23.4 and 17:23.6 respectively.   The Tornado girls finished 7th overall of 27 teams. Individually, for the girls it was Junior Jennifer Cichra finishing an outstanding 5th overall and running 18:59. Following Jennifer across the line were Freshman Ava Brewster(21st – 20:04), Juniors Aubree Tack (50th -21:05), and Kara Kemple (84th – 21:56), and Freshman Lauren Bowden (99th- 22:16) rounded out Butler's scoring.   The Tornado next returns to White Oak Park for the WPIAL Championships on Thursday October 29th.

The Golden Tornado traveled to North Park today to take on the Tigers of NA and the Titans of Shaler.   In the boys race it was Butler falling in a close meet to North Allegheny 28-31. The boys were led by the 1-2 finish of Cj Singleton and Sage Vavro. The boys finish out the duel meet season and section competition with a 6 win and 1 lose record. Butler Cross Country Results vs Hampton - sent by Rick B. Davanzati - Head Coach   EXTRA: The Butler boys and girls Cross Country teams hosted the visiting Hampton Talbots and came away with two dominating wins.   First the girls swept the first five places winning by a score of 15 to 44 - they are now 3 and 2 on the season.  The girls were led by the #2 all-time performance of Jennifer Cichra running 20:02. Positions 1-10 are as follows:   1. Jennifer Cichra - Butler - 20:02 2. Ava Brewster - Butler - 20:44 3. Kara Kemple - Butler - 22:24 4. Aubree Tack - Butler - 22:31 5. Samantha Cornell - Butler - 22:56 6. L. Bailey - Hampton - 23:33 7. T Grimm - Hampton - 24:10 8. A. Grimm - Hampton - 24: 42 9. Jordyn Vandevort - Butler - 24:42 10. Caitlin Peratt - Butler - 24:57   Not to be out done the boys swept the first six places in route to an almost perfect score of 15 to 49. They are now 5 and 0 on the season. The boys again were led by the one two punch of CJ Singleton and Skyler Vavro running 17:13 and 17:26 respectively. Positions 1-10 are as follows:   1. CJ Singleton - Butler - 17:13 2. Butler High School Cross Country – 2020 – Sponsor – Coach Rick B. Davanzati Tuesday September 22nd 2020 – Results vs North Hills and Mars     The Golden Tornado Cross Country teams took on visiting North Hills and Mars on Tuesday and came away with a total of four wins as both the Boy's and Girl's teams ran away from the Indians and Planets.   Leading the charge for Girls were Jennifer Cichra, Ava Brewster, Aubree Tack, Kara Kemple and Lauren Bowden.   For the Boys it CJ Singleton, Skyler Vavro, Raine Gratzmiller, Cole Lyons, and Ryder Kriley.   The Boy's record now stands at 4 and 0 on the season the Girls are 2 and 2. The Team's host the Hampton Talbots on next Tuesday at the High School. Go Tornado Cross Country!

On Saturday September 19 the Tornado Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams traveled to White Oak Park in McKeesport, PA and faced off against many of the top teams in the WPIAL. On the boys side the Tornado finished 2nd overall of 19 full teams - falling only to defending WPIAL Champion North Allegheny. The Tornado were led by the First Place Overall WINNER and Course Record Setter Junior CJ Singleton running an outstanding time of 15:46. Singleton was followed across the line by medal winning Juniors Sage Vavro (7th) and Raine Gratzmiller (21st), Sophomore Ben Lyons (23rd) (top 25 received awards) with scorers being rounded out by Senior Skyler Vavro (49th).   For the Girls it was Freshman Ava Brewster and Junior Jennifer Cichra winning medals in 18th and 24th respectively leading the Tornado to an 11th place overall finish in a tough field of 21 full teams. Rounding out Butler's scoring and running well were Juniors Aubree Tack (75th), and Kara Kemple(79th), and Sophomore Samantha Cornell (81st).

Butler High School Cross Country – 2020 – Sponsor – Coach Rick B. Davanzati Tuesday September 15th 2020 – Results vs Seneca Valley and Pine Richland     On Tuesday The Butler High School Cross Country Teams faced off at Home against the Raiders of Seneca Valley and the Rams of Pine-Richland to open up the Dual Meet Season.               The Tornado Boys came away with a double victory as they took down the Raiders of SV 19 to 40 and the Rams 18 to 38 to go 2 and 0 on the young season. For the boys, it was Juniors CJ Singleton and  Sage Vavro along with Senior Skyler Vavro leading the charge. Sophomore Ben Lyons and Junior Raine Gratzmiller rounded out the Butler scoring.   In the Girls Race – The Tornado fell to both Pine Richland 19 to 41 and Seneca Valley 23 to 34. The girls were led by Junior Jennifer Cichra and Freshman Ava Brewster. Butler’s scoring was rounded out by the fine running of Sophomore Kara Kemple and Aubree Tack and Sophomore Samantha Cornell. The girls are 0 and 2 on the young season.
